NPORS Quick Hitch Awareness Course Duration

Novice Operator: 1 day training, maximum 10 candidates.

Refresher: 1 day, maximum 10 candidates

Experienced Worker Test: 1 day, maximum 10 candidates.

Location: Our Instructors can deliver training across London and the South-East.

Certification

NPORS Traditional card – valid for 5 years.

 

OR

NPORS card with CSCS logo – accepted by all major building contractor’s. The initial card is the RED trained operator card which lasts for 2 years and can be upgraded to BLUE competent operator card further to completion of relevant NVQ.

CSCS Health & Safety Test

If you require the NPORS Quick-Hitch Awareness card with the CSCS logo on then you must have completed the operatives health and safety test within the last two years.

In house certificates: suitable as proof of operator competence accepted for insurance and HSE compliance.

NPORS Quick-Hitch Awareness Course Objectives

This course is aimed at operatives who are required to attach or work with machinery that require the operation of quick hitch systems, working in the construction industry and allied environments, along with a thorough understanding of the relevant operational and safety requirements.

NPORS is an approved CSCS Partner Card Scheme, providing evidence that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for safe movement of construction machinery. Furthermore, training criteria is based on the approved standards of the Construction Leadership Council.

Entry Requirements

We offer Novice or Refresher training and assessment. EWT Test are for operators who have received some form of training in the past or alternatively have experience working with machinery requiring quick-hitch systems. If you are unsure if you qualify to go down the test route please contact us to discuss this in more detail.

Candidates that require the 'HS&E TESTED Logo' displayed on their card they must have passed the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the last 2 years.

There are two parts to the Quick-Hitch Awareness test, a theory section and a practical session, therefore a good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

NPORS Quick-Hitch Awareness Course Content

To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator

  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular Quick Hitch to be used

  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the Quick Hitch and explain their functions

  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for Quick Hitch use

  • Be able to explain the different types of Quick hitch devices

  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements

  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the designated change over area

  • Fit and remove attachments safely and efficiently

  • Demonstrate and explain checks for attachment security

  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
