NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course Duration

Novice and Refresher : 1 day training, maximum 20 candidates.

Certification

NPORS Traditional card – lasts for 3 years

Labourers who have achieved the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course can apply for the CSCS green Labourers Card, once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test. Click here for more info

 

CSCS Health & Safety Test

If you require the NPORS Plant Mover Red operator card with the CSCS logo on then you must have completed the operatives health and safety test within the last two years.

In house certificates: suitable as proof of operator competence accepted for insurance and HSE compliance.

NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course 

The NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course has been mapped as a full equivalent to the QCF Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This means that in addition to plant operators undertaking this course, labourers who have achieved the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course can apply for the CSCS green Labourers Card, once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.

NPORS is an approved CSCS Partner Card Scheme, providing evidence that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for safe movement of construction machinery. Furthermore, training criteria is based on the approved standards of the Construction Leadership Council.

Entry Requirements

This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

The course is theory based, with a test conducted at the end so a good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

  • Health and Safety Regulations

  • COSHH and Hazardous Substances in construction

  • Accident prevention

  • Reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences

  • Electricity on construction sites

  • PPE

  • Noise of construction sites

  • Manual and mechanical handling

  • Excavations and confined spaces

  • Working at Height

  • Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS)

  • Fire prevention
